Professional Home Inspection Backed by Engineering Expertise
Professional Structural Engineer, P.Eng & Certified Home Inspector serving the Greater Toronto Area.

Our goal is not simply to hand you a report
- You should understand the property before you commit to it.Buying a home is one of the biggest financial decisions most people ever make, and it should not turn on a document you cannot read.
- So findings get explained, not just listed. The property is evaluated carefully, what matters is set out in plain language, and you get unbiased information you can actually act on.
Thorough, reliable and unbiased inspections so you can make informed property decisions with confidence.
Four things every inspection delivers
We take the time to look carefully
Every accessible system is examined and documented. Nothing is skipped because the schedule is tight.
Findings reflect the property
Our observations are based on the condition of the building, not on the outcome of the transaction.
Explained so you understand it
Plain language, photographs on every finding, and a phone call afterwards if anything needs talking through.
Professional from start to finish
From the first call through to report delivery, you deal with the same person throughout.

A structural engineer reading the building
With a background as a Professional Structural Engineer, P.Eng, combined with professional home inspection expertise, we bring a technical and detail-oriented approach to every inspection.
That background matters most when observing structural components and conditions that may warrant further evaluation. The primary focus of the inspection itself, however, is an objective, detailed and easy-to-understand assessment of the property.
- Structural conditions observed by a licensed engineer
- More than 10 years on construction sites and in field inspection
- Findings ranked so the important items are unmistakable
- Referral to further evaluation when it is genuinely warranted
A home inspection is a visual, non-invasive assessment. A formal structural engineering report is a separate service, available on request.
Experienced. Professional. Detail-oriented.

A Certified Home Inspector and Professional Structural Engineer with more than ten years spent on construction sites, in structural engineering and in field inspection.
- Background
- Years of reviewing construction details, identifying deficiencies and evaluating structural systems. It builds a working understanding of how buildings are put together, how problems develop, and what to look for when assessing a property.
- Approach
- Thorough and systematic. Foundation, structure, framing, roof, exterior, interior, electrical, plumbing, heating and cooling, and every other accessible area.
A good home inspection is not about finding the longest list of problems. It is about identifying the issues that matter, explaining them clearly, and helping you understand the condition of one of the most important investments you will make.
Questions people ask first
What the engineering background actually changes, and what it does not.
What does an engineering background change about the inspection?
The scope does not change. It is the same professional home inspection, covering the same systems. What changes is that structural conditions are being observed by someone who designs them for a living, which mostly shows in how confidently the ordinary is separated from the significant — settlement cracking that every house of that age has, against movement that warrants a closer look.
Is a home inspection the same as a structural engineering report?
No, and the difference matters. A home inspection is a visual, non-invasive assessment of the accessible parts of a property. A formal structural engineering assessment is a separate service with a different scope and a different deliverable. Where an inspection finds something that genuinely warrants one, you will be told plainly.
Who actually carries out the inspection?
The inspection is carried out personally, and the person who walks the property is the person who writes the report and answers the phone afterwards. Nothing is subcontracted and nothing is written up by someone who was not there.
How much experience is behind it?
More than ten years across construction, structural engineering and field inspection — spent on sites reviewing construction details, identifying deficiencies and evaluating structural systems. That is the background that informs what gets looked at and how the findings are described.
Will you tell me if something needs a specialist?
Yes, and specifically rather than vaguely. Some conditions cannot be characterised without opening something up, testing it, or having a licensed trade look at it. When that is the case the report says what is needed and why, so the next step is a clear one instead of a worry.
Can I ask questions once I have the report?
Yes. Call and ask about anything in it. Reports are written to be precise, which is not always the same as being easy on a first read, and a short conversation usually resolves more than an exchange of messages.
